How to Clean My Humidifier?
We suggest that you clean the humidifier every three days. That might sound like a lot of work, but it’s worth doing to avoid the dreaded humidifier lung.
1. Unplug and disassemble your humidifier.
2. Fill the tank with water as you normally would, but add 2 tablespoons distilled white vinegar (citric acid powder, or a similar weak acid also applied)
3. Let this mixture sit in the tank for 30 minutes.
4. Empty the humidifier, and use cleaning brush and cloth to clean any areas with extra build-up.
5. Rinse all the parts and let them dry out for 30 to 60 minutes before you’re ready to use the humidifier again.
